lyle in austin here....would love to recommend austin ******** in austin, tx to all in central texas looking for a great shop....

robert the owner along with his crew of mechanics are the best i've seen in my years of driving mb's. took my car to JUST BRAKES for a cheapy brake job and guess what...you get what you pay for....they put oil in my brake system....plugged up my master cylinder, which Robert gave to me off a junked 300 (for my 420sel)...they looked at the braking system

and found the following that the cheap shop missed

leaking seals rr caliper
oil in brake fluid
bad master cylinder
worn brake cable lf wheel

bottom line.....i will never take my car anywhere else again....

that's why I am taking a votech class on automotive repair so I don't have to waste money and do a better job

yeah unfornately its true a good number shops out there the chains in particular arent that great especially when it comes to mercedes. if you have a cheap econo box then youll be fine at the chains. However there are some good and bad indys as well just got to keep looking around until you find someone who can do a good job. Otherwise learn how to fix your car yourself to save yourself from headaches and wasting money. Even with indys its hard to find someone who is constantly good without getting greedy.
