Texas
Hi,
Does anyone know a good reputable, economical MB shop in the Dallas area (besides the dealers) who know Mercedes mechanically as well as on the inside (interior) and would also know how to tune them or make them faster. I guess I'm asking for a good tuning shop. Don't know about building hot rods, but if you want a good, honest MB only tech, check out Mercedes Haus, Schweikart. He is in the old Dallas industrial area off Industrial Blvd.
He is a German man, works alone and has many bays. You can find him in the phone book. Good luck, ------------------ Larry Bible '84 Euro 240D, 523K miles '88 300E 5 Speed '81 300D Daughter's Car Over 800,000 miles in Mercedes automobiles |

For very good work, honest advice and reasonable prices you can't beat German Motor Imports at 8210-1/2 Broadway, (210) 824-8581... The owner John will tell it to you straight and not try to bankrupt you... On my Dad's 1983 380 SEL he could have told us it needed a ton of work and charged a mint, but kept it to the basics like we asked and reasonable $... On my old 190 he was easy to get in and out (vice Benson MB dealer with 2 week minimum to get appointment) and always reasonable.

Just wanted to mention if you live around Austin, TX, I recommend German Auto Center. It's run by Mitch Dean and I think he's a straight shooter.
He's got a good crew of techs and although he aint cheap, they get it done right. Over the last two years I have had no complaints. German Auto Center is on Buell St. Phone# 512-452-6437. tell them Mr.BILL sent you! Mr. BILL 90 300SE 85 300D 84 300SD (sold) |

Q,
I have had good dealings in the past with Carl Schweikart of Schweikart Haus Mercedes. His shop is in the old industrial area North of downtown Dallas off Industrial Boulevard. Henry's may still be open. His wife was an active
participant in alt.auto.mercedes, handing out lots of good advice. I *think* she said the shop was staying open, but has since disappeared from that forum. In North Dallas, I hear lots of praise for Rodney Herson, located on Davenport. I've no direct experience - none of my out-of-warranty MBs has ever needed a repair significant enough that I needed to have it done. I did purchase a car which was exclusively maintained there, and it was very well cared for. - Jim |

Nine-eleven Enterprises in Dallas.
http://www.nine-eleven.com/ 2120 Cindy Lane, Dallas, TX 75229-2002 (972) 241-2002 Most excellent shop. You could eat off the floor. They always have a diverse collection of German machinery there, like 911 turbos, s classes, etc. Great shop, very professional, involved in the local clubs, hosts tech days, etc. Jack 93 400e |

I had the car I bought from Texas serviced at Park Place MBZ before engaging on the journey back to N.Y. They seemed very nice, and professional.

So far as MB dealers go....Park Place Mercedes Benz is the best I have seen...not cheap...but very professional and capable....when I lived in Dallas they serviced my two different cars on many occassions....there is a shop in Fort Worth ..AutoHeinz...my mother and some others have gone there for years....very reputable....even respected and known by MB dealers in the area

Classic Olds/MB
I've been dealing with them for about a year, never heard a bad word about them.
