Classic/Olds MB

Do you have a contact there?
My MB has moved from Austin to Tyler. And I am in need of a good MB brain there.
Thanks!

Great shop. The owner (Hans) handed me the service manual after I told him I knew what the problem was, and how to take the said part apart to fix, but didn't know the specifics.

He said to be sure and return it, he didn't even know who I was. Any shop that does that gets a thumbs up from me.

He earned my business, so bring your MB to this guy (he's on Edloe off 59 near the Compaq Center)

His lot was packed with MB's.

enjoy

Does anyone have any positive (or negative) feedback regarding small shops in the North Dallas (Carrollton area) Area? How about any word on Nurnberg Auto Works in Dallas? I took my 90 300SL there for a pre-purchase lookover....and he seemed to know his stuff. The day I went I was one day away from being able to see EVERY SL model in his shop...the gullwing apparantly rolled out the day before. Thanks in advance...

I"m pretty sure you're not reading this post anymore, but in case you are, is that anywhere near that gigantic mb dealership on 59 next to the summit (compaq center)?

Yes it is a stone's throw away from the Summit, on Edloe.

Be aware that I have not had them do any work at all on my car. My opinion was based on them lending me the actual shop manual for my 300E. Based on what I saw at the shop (very clean, lots of MB's, owner was very personable) and their generousness, is what i'm basing my decision on.

They service BMW's also. I'm certain they are competent in handling any problem you might have with your 300E. Their prices are somewhere between a small independent shop and a dealer, so shop around if you're concerned about low costs.

I have some names of other shops that have lower labor costs that are mostly located on the outskirts of Houston. Even one that will install customer-supplied parts. Email me if you are interested.

Good luck

Paul

Question Paintless Dent Removal in Houston

Has anybody used a good paintless dent removal company in Houston that they can recommend? I've got a 300SDL with a minor door ding that I would like removed and I've heard that the paintless dent removal system works, depending on the size of the dent, of course.

I had my timing chain replaced at Classic. The service consultant I dealt with was Greg Short 903-579-0232. Good experience. Now, I have a transmission problem which I posted on the Tech Help forum. I'll be calling Classic, for an opinion/cost on my tranny.

My uncle recently moved to Tyler. Since he left Ohio, I am not able to service his '74 280 anymore, but he found a great shop by the name of Star Garage. Owner's name is Ray Pfeiffer, I believe. My uncle said he has been working on MBs for over thirty years and works on only nice older ones these days, he says he won't work on "bubba'd" ones!

There was/is a shop near downtown Ft. Worth named Henry's Foreign Auto, or something nearly that name. Afraid I don't have any more specific information. The office manager was a prolific poster to the MB newsgroup a few years back, and certainly quite knowledgable about MB cars. While I cannot vouch for this shop personally, it may be worth a look.
