I just went through that with my 92. Was not able to find anyone to rent me the proper tools. Special tool for removing and re-installing the outer lower control arm bushing in the wheel carrier is the only special tool that I know of for the job.

I was able to make it all happen with a combination of pipe nipples, other pipe fittings, threaded rods, perfectly sized sockets and big hammers and a sturdy bench top vice.

Wasn't too hard all together. Inner lower control arm bushing's were the worst ones by far. If I had to do it again I would consider just buying new lower control arms with new bushings in them or just leaving those bushings alone because honestly they weren't bad.

I wonder if anyone uses a generic bushing tool on these.

I'd get a pair of control arms from the yard and the both sets of bushings and take them to a shop and have them pressed so you can just swap the rebushed CAs in.

I have the outer bushing tool I can rent depending on how long you'll need it, but it's only $100 to buy new.
