W123 Spring Compressor Tool Needed - Hit and Run
So my beloved 1985 300TD was hit back in May while parked in front of my house. The person was driving down a wet street at 4-5am and lost it, fish tailed into my front fender and bent the suspension, and came around and nailed my neighbors van. Somehow managed to drive away, but luckily we found the license plate.
I have been fighting it out with the insurance company, and they are lowballing me in the value, sadly I didn't have classic car insurance at the time. Anyhow, I have purchased the suspension parts from Pelican, and they should be here by the end of the week, early next. I was considering purchasing the cheap spring compression tool of eBay, but I dislike purchasing cheap tools. I messaged a few people on the list, but have not heard back. I would like to get the car finished and back on the road asap. Anyone have a tool they would be willing to lend me? Thanks! |

Hahahaha, think the OP has his project finished yet? It has been a year and a half since he posted this thread! But...while I'm here...
I am in need of a coil spring compressor for work I intend to do on the rear of my '88 260E. Today I sent an email to just one of the guys on 'the list' and have heard nothing from him yet. May never. So... @Schmierung, is yours available? I assume it's the 'disk' style.. Brand? Rental/Purchase details? Thanks, Dale
