Timing chain crimper anyone?
I'm in need of a chain crimper for the OM617 timing chain. Would be happy to compensate someone for the rental and shipping of said tool. I'm a professional mechanic so you don't have to worry about it being abused - just can't justify buying one yet.
Any help appreciated. Thanks! |
I got one however I don't know how the rental deal would work because once it's sent out, what could a person really do if they never got it back ? Or, it somehow got broken? Not many of these out there floating around ...

Good point. I was thinking the same thing because I just received one in trade--never used-- in payment of a debt. And I will be using it soon. |
It is easy enough to peen the link with a ball peen hammer and something backing it up. Works just as well as the crimper tool in my opinion.

you're stronger willed and tougher than me. I would be scared banging on those engine parts with a hammer would break something. My luck I would ... lol

True I don’t see where they are selling the crimper any more and according to Klann and Sams they sold out of the guide rail helper tool
