Try a wax and grease remover you can get at any autobody supply store, or there are tons of adhesive removers that are available at Lowes, or Home Depot. I even use lacquer thinner on newer cars, but you need to try a spot on some older vehicles just to be sure it doesn't actually have lacquer on it.

OOPS or GOOF-OFF works pretty well. Lighter fluid also. They can streak rubber so be careful how you slop it around.

Denatured alcohol works with a little more rubbing and is safer for the fresh paint.

OOPS is MUCH hotter than Goof-Off in my experience - it certainly can melt plastic. Don't use OOPS on paint, or you might be saying "OOPS", among other things! Goof-Off will work on darned near anything if you let it soak.

Probably more like "Purple Power" or "Grease Lightning". Typical degreaser.

Goo-gone is my favorite, it's slow but I have never seen it eat anything.

Wd-40

It will remove Duct/Duck tape adhesive(even nasty old dried type)

the Paint will never know you used it.

WD-40 is just as good/better than Goo-Gone. I'd use the latter if I'm removing something inside the cabin because it has a lemon scent.

3M stripe off wheel

The answer to the question no one's asked... (lately)
3M Stripe Off Wheel part # 07498, (4 in x 5/8 in), w/Hardware

It's like an eraser for adhesive. Harbor freight has them but I have not heard anything good about theirs, while body shops LOOOVE the 3m (original) version. Would you put a post-it from 3M on your dash? OK, how about one from Harbor Freight? See what I mean!
