Would spray painting just the chrome pieces work? I'm wondering if prepping as you said and then spraying Krylon or something like it on the chrome would look okay and hold up well?

You gotta rough up the surface, otherwise it wont stick.

think they are polished aluminum so it should work to paint them...real chrome does not paint well

Yeah, you're probably right about that. I might try it once the weather gets warmer. If it doesn't look great, that's no big deal. I'll need to get the body repainted eventually and I'll have the shop do the trim at the same time so everything matches.
