I have a windshield seal cutter and trim tools but for $175 installed -YG China tinted top, WTH

Installer took off trim first, then took out the coolest tool I seen in a loooong time.

Maybe 1 minute to remove the windshield.

It's basically a "sawzall" with a spatula with a slight bent 10/15 degrees where the wide part starts

Use soapy spray bottle for lube and keep sealant from sticking back together.

I do have a Firestorm 24v "sawzall" that will work for junkyards.

Buy a 110v "sawzall type" at Harbor freight on sale $19.95 2 thriftstore spatulas $2.

He said they go for $450 and worth every penny.

Did that thing really work ?

I have busted my fair share of windshields at the yard until I got a roll of steel cable from the SafeLite Auto Glass Guy. Super nice guy. I also have a proto type of the suction cup (double) with a spindle and crank for a one man show. OR, with one or two people, that steel wire zips thru a windshield in 10-20 minutes, ZERO damage and no problems. I have tried the 90* degree blade with handle puller and the long 18" "guaranteed" blade and both of those failed. The SafeLite Guy let me take a picture of his suction cup contraption and that little sucker is the cat's pajamas !

Yes the "sawzall" tool does work. Fast.

He did say he hated doing Mercedes windshield with a gasket - had a new one for my 82 300d, he didn't have the time, literally had 5+ calls while he was here.

I also used cables cut hood releases from junkyard cars.

Yes, the item you pictured is a POS ! I had one and it busted 2 yard WS, so that went back to the store. The 18" razor blade was really no better.

Micro thin "piano" wire which is actually a rectangle and NOT round zipped right thru it. BUT, your idea is intriguing. FYI project maybe ...
