1963 300 SE Heckflosse The next Wodnek project Sedan
I bought this one September 7th, 2008.
It was a daily driver in 1963 in Europe and was brought to the states some time in the 60s. It was driven in the Milwaukee area until 1974 when it was parked in a garage until the owners untimely death in a tragic house fire in 2007. I purchased the car from his estate. The car is as it was put away. The interior is quite nice. It is a true euro spec car. Manual windows, manual sunroof, euro lights, and Metric gauge cluster.

The car has not been run since it was put away in 74. They were unable to find the keys so the first thing to do is get a key.

After sitting 34 years, no surprise that the air bags are deflated and dry rotted.

Wodnek I am answering Beastie's question 2.5 years later! That is the air compressor for the air ride. I have kept touch with Han through the years, he has it in storage, hoping to get to it some day. 11-03-2013

Wodnek Unfortunately guys,
I had to let it go. (Father in a nursing home) I advertised it on ebay with 50 excellent pictures, half expecting to get a German buyer, Instead it sold to a guy named Hans, in the Netherlands.
I pulled the seat cover partially off one seat, and OMG! The seats were absolutely perfect underneath! It will make Hans a great car.

I asked him to forward pictures to me as he restores it, I hope he does.

280EZRider I enjoyed your photo gallery online and look forward to progress pics. What a great find! It's amazing to see how MB has used the same base designs for so many years. I would guess the wood trim in 63 was solid wood, so it should be easy to refurbish. Enjoy! 08-15-2009
Colorado220 WOW, what a find, that is going to be a great car once you get some work done on her! 05-25-2009
