I always wanted a Mercedes convertible,and at 43 years of age my dream came true! I bought her from another enthusiast who was thinning down his collection.His loss was certainly our gain!

winecountryone	I paid 3500$ back in 2008.The 75 and back cars use a different fuel injection system.Parts for the old system are expensive and more difficult to find.75&76 models used catalytic converters but they were part of the exhaust manifolds put a lot of extra heat into the engine compartment. Newer 450 models had a troublesome climate control servo that requires frequent overhaul.Early model 380 series cars had timing chain issues which were finally resolved by the 84&85 model years.The 560 series were the end of the 107 chassis cars.They are not very fuel efficient due to the big motors.Unless you can do a lot of your own work none of these cars are inexpensive to own.They are a true joy to drive though.Anything with records of work done is a big plus,even if the asking price is higher.My logic on my car was that I wanted something that was exempt from CA emissions testing.(Pre 1975)If I had it to do over I'd probably pay more and get a 560,just to have modern technology like ABS and such.	07-09-2012
