500SL AMG in action

The SL AMG has ten year old tires; so what do you do when you're buying new tires in a week or two?

PS - I love this video forum - great idea, guys.

sweet....

wow, that motor sounds great. It sounds so modern, I can't believe the car is an '83. What mods did you make to it, and where did you find a Euro version with a stick shift? Would you recommend an early 80s 107 with a stick to others or does it require a lot of attention and expense? Are parts hard to source for it?

Really sounds amazing. I was shocked when I first heard it.

The car was done by AMG Germany in 1983. MB only made a handful of M116s with the manual (learned this just recently!), and they didn't make any of the M117s with the manual. Has to be converted the hard way if you going to make one.

Muy bueno! Your car looks fast in the pictures, but the video was impressive.

Cannonball run

The sound clip from the second video sounds almost exactly like one of the opening scenes with the black Lambo from the first Cannonball Run movie (1980), I'm not saying its the same, just sounds a lot like it, which makes it even cooler...
