I like Ron Paul a lot, but sometimes his understanding of International affairs escapes and scares me. While I applaud his being a Constitutionalist, he really dissapointed me making such leading statements regarding the war and was predisposed to his position so General Patraeus couldn't answer without appearing biased, yet the questions were biased right from the start.
We can no longer afford an isolationist policies in an age when weapons of mass destruction can reach our shores in less than 30 minutes! NPR, National Public Radio, even said back in 1997 that Al Qeiada was in Iraq trying to befriend Saddam Hussein. If this relationship ever took hold, NPR reported that we could be inserious trouble! NPR even did a piece called "Al Qaieda in Iraq" in September of 1998 and how they were making friends with Saddam Hussein in an attempt to gain total control over the middle east and then destroy Israel. While I appreciate you, Senator Ron Paul, for your knowledge of why we should still be on the gold standard and what our Articles of Constitution mean, we can no longer just back out of Iraq and hope the problems will just go away! Liberals have absolutely no right or reason to assume the moral high ground either, since they have not come up with anything other than "cut and run" without even thinking about what should come next. George Bush, as a Republican conservative who believes that we indeed do have a Constitutional right to protect and serve this Republic and for the principles on which it stands, I'm totally dissapointed in how badly you grossly mismanaged and handled this entire affair! I didn't vote for you in 2000 nor in 2004, because I knew you didn't possess intelligence yourself beyond the low double digits, and I'm being generous! |
