Talking Why Hummers suck

A G Wagen or Gurkha would handle all that with ease.

As would a Fiat Panda 4X4 or an AWD Subaru Justy or a Mazda 323 Turbo GTX. Heck, I probably could have handled that in my old Festiva.

Not to defend Hummer, but the Jeeps climbed a completely different section of trail, an actual trail. The Hummer driver was attempting to drive up the side of a hill, next to the actual trail. apples & oranges.

Watch the entire clip. The Jeeps went over the same way towards the end.

oops, sorry you're right. Camera angle threw me off. Regardless, it still kind of amazes me that the hummer couldn't clear that trail. Could it be driver inexperience?

Nope, its poor design. Just watch how it busted the joints in the first part. Hummer needs lockers for its girth and only then can it negotiate some parts of the terrain.

Obviously, there are enough people with more money than sense. Otherwise, this gas-guzzling abortion would never have been produced, at least for the civilian, brain-dead dullards of our society.

I hate those things too but the first video that broke the suspension was an H2 not an H1. It's a Silverado HD and as I understand different than a H1 chassis.

As for the rest of the video aren't the jeeps HALF of the weight of a Hummer?

Oh and with a little investigative work...that H2 that has a broken chassis seemed ominously like a Southern California area school. The car came from Mark Christopher Hummer so in the 909 area code so it was probably done at UC Riverside or something along those lines

It's inexperience and timidity on part of the owner of the $100K Hummer. If the owner of the $4200 Jeep rolled his truck, he had nothing to loose - except maybe a couple of weekends wielding a sledge hammer on it. I doubt the Hummer owner paid cash when he picked it up - it was probably a lease!

Yeah, skill has a lot to do with operating cars and other vehicles.
