Looks interesting, I'll have to watch it.

I was never a big fan of anything Japanese about WW2, they still don't own up to half the crap they did.

It's kind of hard but try to watch without analyzing the show from a historical perspective.

I think what's interesting is the struggle the modern Japanese have with what to do in each unique battle.

My problem is I know to much about the subject matter, I already spotted things they left out and I'm only on episode 2.

Its pretty good though, I'll watch all 26. I'm in the middle of shikabane hime to, so its going to have to wait.

Anime and rap music both hold about the same level of interest for me. I remember watching Speed Racer occassionally as a kid. Would that be considered one of the earliest forms of anime or at least one of the earliest instances of it in the US?

I would say yes, Speed Racer is an early Anime.

Most of the people who flat out reject Anime are ones who just can't get past the idea that anything animated is for children.

There are thousands of animated shows ranging from the very childish and silly to extremely gripping adult story lines.

I have to agree with that. Their are a lot of anime that are not for children in any way. You just need to get past the idea that cartoons are for kids.

Ghost in the Shell for example was made for an older american audiance. I think their target age group was 20-35.

I love the stories they tell. Their is a lot of junk out their, but good anime are gripping. Wolf's Rain, Fullmetal Alchemist is epic, Black Lagoon is nothing but a big social comentary piece.

Some new stuff like the second season of Darker than Black is just fantastic.

The new FMA the way it was ment to be told following the manga, is an extremly complicated story. I don't think many kids could grasp the commentary in it on war, genicide, and freedom.

Fantastic series, just finished it. Can't wait until the come out with the rest of it.

I have to say modern technoligy is fantastic. The battle's were really something. Using that radar controlled 5in to blast the bombers out of the air, and launching a Tomahawk against the Wasp! It was quite an unfair fight.
