This seems awfully familiar to another movie with Robert De'Niro which is, most likely, much better.....

Ronin: a kick-ass movie to be sure!

Yes Ronin was a much better movie than the killer elite. Shame I had such high hopes for a movie adaption of the "Feather Men" by Ranulph Fienes.

The book is very complex and they try to throw it all into the movie and more stuff that isn't in the book on top of it. So the movie seems to move way, way too fast for any character development for any of them except the 3 stars. They do seem to miss very important parts of the book.

There is plenty of action though and those sequences are good but everything else is pretty much a wash.

I watched this movie on the plane back to the US when I took a vacation. Basically watched it for the old cars (Ford Capris, old American classics, BMW 5-er, W123, W116, W126, etc) - no W124 or W201's yet (the setting was 1980).

Agree on the above statements - Ronin was better.

Yeah another departure from the book.... that was set from 1975 to 1991 to show how complex and hard the task the killers undertook was.

I've heard several directors say that it is very hard to make a movie from a book. A short story is, according to people who know more than I do, easier to adapt to a screen play.
