I just watched the original this evening. Even though the Charger lost 27 hubcaps during the chase, it's held up well considering that it was filmed approximately 44 years ago.

Nice homage to the original but there's nothing like a triple black 68 Charger going straight through a gas station.

I like searching for car chase scenes on youtube. The seven ups is also a good one.

I watched that movie again no too long ago and was amazed at how primitive-looking it was. I'm surprised no one has ever remade that. With all the technological advances in the last 44 years, that would be kick-ass!

For the gas station portion of the chase scene, they physically attached the driverless Charger to the side of the Mustang, with the Mustang driver aiming the Charger towards the gas station. At the appropriate moment, the Charger was released, and coasted into the gas station.

I always liked the part at the very end, after the gas station explosion, where the Mustang slid over the median, and landed in the ditch with the right front wheel ball joint broken. I could never determine if the ball joint was rigged to break, or if it was just "luck".

Nice piece of history there.

I was greatly disappointed when the new Gone in 60 Seconds came out. At the end when Mr. Cage jumps the Eleanor over that tractor trailer was ridiculous. It was a decent movie up until then.

This is probably my favorite car chase scene. Although Bullitt is a close second.

That was cool.

Just like the original, the green Volkswagen keeps appearing in scene after scene.

Would have been nice with a forest green mustang, and a 2 door charger. But of course the new pos chargers are 4 door.

This is my favorite car chase too, but that freaking music! totally ruins it. Robs the intensity, whoever spliced that it ruined the chase.

I also love the various bourne chases

Nice of the guy in the remake to unbuckle his seatbelt before he passed out so he could be laying out in the open door and make it easier to drag him out of there...
