Mercedes Shifter 220 S430 S500 S600 230 SL500 SL55 CL500 215 Repair S Class service
This video shows how to install a rebuilt kit for a 220 Shifter - You can buy them made from plastic or made from Hardened aluminum. We suggest the metal one because plastic will break again.

A quick overview of the adjustments on the 1985 and later 722.3 and 722.4 automatic transmissions. Cars before 1985 don't have the blue flying saucer on the fender (which uses boost to modify shift quality), but they do have the other two adjustments.

Replacement of Merc transmission speed sensor for ML320 1999 with 120,000 miles. Also called a compression plate. Failure of this plate causes a P0175 error and can cause the car to stick in one gear, usually 2nd.

If you have changed the speed sensor and the car is still stuck in 2nd gear (called limp home mode), you must have a MB computer clear the codes. Apparently general code devices don't reset transmission codes.
