Spent all day saturday cutting the paint on my Fintail, this is a before and after shot. It's about the only product which does what it says on the tin!

Wow!

I may have to try some of that on Big Blue -- think it will cut through that crap paint job down to the factory clear coat?

"T-Cut" is the name of the product?? I'd like to hear more about it.

DuPont white polishing compound is the only one I'm familiar with. Orange rubbing compound seems too severe. And DuPont No.7 polishing paste is pretty good too for cleaning up surfaces after they've been compounded or in between wax jobs.

Once bought myself a random/orbital electric buffer with lambswool pads. It stunk and was practically impossible to get good results with. Ended up giving the thing away to a neighbor who had a boat. Using elbow grease is probably the only way to do it right.

It's gotta be instant gratification to be pulling a new finish out of original 40 yr old paint that's maybe 32 coats or 1/16" deep. This is exactly what I was talkin about with that guy in Texas who just bought a $400 project coupe. Return dignity to the car first and all other repairs will be alot more gratifying.

Big problem on my '60 Fintail is the green paint peeling off the grey primer that was added during the last re-paint. Original, matching green paint is under the primer but this primer has proven very stubborn to remove.
Unfortunately, T-Cut may not be availible in th US.

Happy Motoring, Mark

This is T-Cut...

It doesn't seem to damage the paint and I only used a couple of rags to rub it down. The state my paint was in, I'm quite pleased with the results.
