Thumbs up Need torque converter 79 Mercedes 450sel 6.9

79 Mercedes 450sel 6.9 had a bad transmission, which was rebuilt.
The current torque converter is bad.
The torque converter (part 100-250-35-02) is no longer available from MB, and if it were, it would be $3500. Ouch.

Know a good torque converter rebuilder.

Help!!!

One in junk yard

There was just a post about a 6.9 in a northern CA pick-n-pull junk yard look up whoever posted it see if they might, for a fee pull it for you if they won’t pull it but will verify the car is there. I might do it for you if it is not too far from San Jose It might have been a southern CA pick-n-pull but it was posted in the last month. If you cant find the post PM me I will dig it up.

Try www.jie.com. He rebuilt my 6.9 tranny a few years back. He works through shops only but I would give him a shot

They changed the URL on me. www.germantransmission.com is now:

http://www.europeantransmissions.com/europeanhomepage.html

A rebuild on the 450/6.9 is $1650

http://www.europeantransmissions.com/Tranisite/mercedes.htm

The rebuild includes the torque convertor. At least it did when they did mine.
