surface scratches on wood trim

Hey,

Ive been thinking a lot about my wood trim and read up a whole lot of posts about wood trim but the only method suggested was to strip off the spar urethane and then respray the trim. I have the 450sel with the wood trim running under the dash across from side to side and it only has light little scuffs in the finish and no cracks. Is it safe to polish that out just like a car's finish? Do they make products for pianos that can be used for this purpose?

Thanks,
Peter

For that urethan stuff, you can try to buff out the scratches. Replacing the wood is simple, though not necessarily cheap. There are plenty of 116 chassis cars in the bone yards.

Think of the problem this way... Can you make it worse? If so, what is plan B?
