Yellow Headlight Lenses

Anybody know of a source for the yellow Euro headlight lenses as pictured below? I guess a better 1st question would be 'are these legal on US roadways'?

Colored lenses would reduce your light output at least 25%. Are you sure you want that?
Many of those aftermarket blue bulbs actually emit less light than stock ones (not the super bright ones on late model cars) It's because the bulb glass has a tint and that reduces the amount of light that passes through.

No, I'm not so sure on these. I am running these really bright H4 lamps and bulbs which seem to irritate everybody driving in front of me. I enjoy the improved visibility, though.

My reasoning on these is purely cosmetic - I kinda like the jaundiced/ hepatitis look, I guess.

Those aftermarket 'blue' bulbs are terrible though. Burned through a set in my suv in six months.

I saw some yellow fog lights on an old Volvo and the owner said that he did it himself by letting them sit with iodine in them. I guess you could experiment with an old lens or something...

Talk to Dan Stern at http://danielsternlighting.com/. He should be able to help you out.

I have a set of jaune selectif H4 bulb capsules that I use in inclement weather. They are simply unbelievable in rain and snow. No glare at all, and they look really cool, too. They do filter out about 10% of the bulb's output, but it isn't really noticeable if you put them in front of 90/100W bulbs.

As for legality, it varies by state. They're legal here in Illinois in wet conditions. Not legal at all in Missouri if you're going to exceed 20mph. Legal all the time in West Virginia and Ontario. I'm always getting pulled over with them, though, so I keep a printout of the relevant state statute in the glovebox - no problems.

Hope this helps,
Tom
