I wish you all a happy new year, throghout the world.

In my homeland of Sweden, New year's day has been declared a day of national mourning, of respect to the 2000 Swedish citizens missing after the floodings in Asia.

I hope everyone who has lost someone will find peace and comfort in some way in the year that is ahead of us.

Dont we usually hold an awards ceremony at this time?

Last year at 2003/2004 we gave somebody an award for the finest DIY custom improvisatioin with GM air induction fuel injection system on his 4 cyl 230/ 115.

Maybe this year we should honor 'the blue whale' 280SE/ 116 as the finest Vintage MB being offered up-for-grabs on this forum at this time.

We have seen alot of competitive Haeckflossen here lately, so honor going to the 116 known for superb handling, impeccable styling and comfort is well deserved.

And what about the fellow from Egypt with his amazing custom 190b Ponton Cabriolet that he asked us to help identify? That car deserves an award for the most original Vintage MB of 2004, although the Portugal Military MB 190c with dual steering wheels that sold on ebay at England to a German buyer deserves recognition too.

I guess hope for World Peace 2005 is out of the question, but yes - it's been an excellent year at the Vintage Forum with millions of visitors bringing their cars here from all over the world.
