Bumper 1978 280SE Euro model

I am here again..............this is a great place for information. Everyone is helpful.

My latest question is this:

The front and rear bumper on this car have two extended (license plate bracket is in the center) areas. I am missing one on the front end. It is black rubber and fits on a metal bracket attached to the bumper. WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS THING??? I have looked on line but am unable to ascertain what the heck it is called in order to replace.

Is the part your missing elongated rubber for the rear of the license plate?
Do you a pic of it?

I think you're talking about the bumper buffer thingies. I would email Jim Harris who's a forum member here and he'd sell you one. He has literally a TON of junk MB's and I'm sure he'd have what you're looking for. Do a search here to get his screen name.

no pics, sorry. There is one on either side of the license plate front/rear.
