I just bought a 72 450SE in near perfect condition. Want to keep it that way (hopefully). Can anybody tell me what the spark plug gap setting is? They are BP6ES NGK. Thanks.

You should use Bosch plugs! The gap should be 0.8mm.

72 280SE Spark Plug Gap
Thanks for the tip. Just noticed that I put the wrong model of my car. What was I thinking! It is a '72 280SE with the 4.5 V-8. I bought the Bosch W7DC plugs from Fastlane and just want to confirm the gap for these plugs. Also, I am having trouble locating a shop manual for this car. Any suggestions? How many of this model with the 4.5 engine did MB produce? Seems the 6 cyliner 280 was more popular.

The Bosch plugs I purchase have the gap on the end of the box.
