w116 clock not working.
All
Everything on the instrument cluster of my W116 6.9 works well apart from the clock. Is anyone familiar with these clocks going out and how to repair them? I would be grateful if you could let me know.

You're probably best-off just getting a used instrument cluster and snagging the clock out of it. These clocks are generally pretty long-lived. Any post-1975 116 cluster ought to work just fine as a clock donor, even for a 6.9.
The other thing you could do would be to remove it and send it to a shop such as Palo Alto Speedometer for repair. www.paloaltospeedo.com Good luck! Cheers, Gerry

Here is an old thread with some ideas on fixing clocks. The capacitor replacement seems to have worked on 123, 126, and 115 cars. I imagine 116 would be similar.
