w116 cruise control location

I am tring to find the cruise control amplifier's location to test whether or not it's operating properly.

I took the 6.9 out for a drive and engaged the cruise control. Once engaged it drops about 5mph and then surges to the set speed. I read previous threads about actuator function and possible vacuum related troubles. I am led to believe that it's under the dash somewhere?

Thanks, I will take a look again. I didn't see anything at first other than the box of connections in the right passenger footwell. I'll check it over again when I get home tonight.

It is a silver box about the size of a modem. It is on a bracket with another, smaller silver squareish box. You have to remove the panel under the dash, no big deal. Getting them out is a big deal. Remove the bracket from the car, do not try to remove the CC amp from the bracket until you have it off the car.

Everyone, thanks for the help in locating the CC unit. I didn't want to start ripping the car apart unnecessarily!

Benzcrusher - how much do you want for the CC unit? The part number is the same as mine. Was it functioning before you started parting out the car?
