Valve Stem Seals Purchased- Size Question

Getting ready to do the valve stem seal replacemt. (heads on car).
Bought the seals (Meistersatz, made in Germany, is on the pkg.)
All the seals (intake and exhaust are the same size)
Is this correct? Seems like I read in a thread that intake seals were
bigger, but maybe that was on a different engine.
Mine is a 74 450 SEL.
I've ordered the Tomguy recommended valve spring compresssor.
When I get that, I'm going to practice on a similar car in a junkyard
and grab a few spare "keepers" just in case.
Appreciate all the responses I have been getting on this topic.
If I'm successful eventually it will be like surviving a fraternity
haze ritual.
I just hate to abandon an old high mileage car that is mechanically
fine other than the warm up smoke problem.

Actually, the exhaust seals should be larger. It should definetly be noticable - the top holes are larger in diameter to accomodate the larger stem.

(how many other people have 2 m117 heads and several valves within 2 feet of their computer desk?~)

The VERY tops of the intake and exhaust valves have the same diameter. But the exhaust valves increase in diameter shortly thereafter. This also makes taking those keepers out a pain in the @ss because the retainer only goes down to that point.

Yeah, Intake are 9mm and exhaust 11mm, right?

I just remembered that there is a retainer ring around the stem seals and that removing it prior to attempting to remove the old seal will help a great deal.

I started a valve stem seal job on my M117 but ended up with a valve job after the valve guide broke and the valve dropped into the cylinder.

The good news is the horrible smoke at startup has been eliminated.
