Question 1973 220 Fuel

I have a 1973 220 4 cylnder (W115) and it has
been sitting for a bit. The battery casues the
car to turn over, but it seems that the gasoline
wont start the car. It has a Stromberg carbuerator
and that is "foreign" to me.
Could use some help and suggestions.

Thanks

And you've check fuel flow to the carb by disconnecting a fuel line? Also have new plugs and checked the spark?

Gasoline typically goes bad after a year unless treated with fuel stabilizer. I suggest draining the tank and putting in fresh, or disconnecting your lines under hood and sticking them into a container of fresh gas to start the car. (Be careful with this one!!)

Probably what you DONT want to do is make adjustments on anything until you've run a fresh tank of fuel through it.

We call this an "Italian tune-up" where you revive the car from hibernation just by driving it hard - and it usually works.
