6.3 water pump rebuild
Does anybody know where a water pump rebuild kit (bushings, etc) can be had for a 6.3? Or does anybody know what components make up the kit so they could be assembled by hand? My dealer says the kit does not show up on his system.
thanks Fred

Sounds dicey to me - getting aftermarket parts and press fitting them into the original casing.
WP's are usually priced at/near $45. Mine cost $39 (240D) two years ago from Fastlane. Is the 6.3 WP unique to that engine, or will an inexpensive brand new one for a 4.5 fit? |

A new 6.3 water pump is about $800, reman is about $350. Every (non-MB) pump I had that was rebuilt lasted longer than the one that came on the car. Unless a pump has a cracked case or the hole is wallowed out, it can be rebuilt, no problem.

60$ ???And that simple??? Maybe they`re not listed as a kit in the EPCatalogue but you could order them separately..that`s what the photo shows...as for the bearings, they`re probably industry standart, with the number stamped you could buy them chaeper from your SKF dealer...
