1967 200Diesel,automatic,fintail,w110

I just purchased my first fintail, had a lot of Benzes before, see my posts, could not resist the temptation and got a cheap,RUST FREE,200D AUTOMATIC.I dont know how many of you guys have one of those,I just try to find more info about it,owned a lot of w123 diesels, how much different is this one?,owner is confident is a good car, told me to drive it home(2000 miles trip),I will not try that, any info,links/source to literature and parts will be helpful.

Congratulations on your purchase and happy driving !!!Well, you know what to check first-chain elongation, valve clearance(measured between the rocker arm and the cap nut),proper function of tensioner, check(change)the oil in IP(it`s self-lubricating)...Then the brakes-inspect for leaking calipers or cylinders (I`d change the piston seals and dust caps to be on the safe side)...Then inspect the propshaft flex disk and interm.bearing...the pinion seal...the brake vac.pump...change all the brake hoses(front ones are same as w123`s)...tie rod ends are w123`s too...as well as the steering shock and the rear brake tubes are w123`s Don`t forget the 13 or so grease nipples that should be looked after twice a year...The water pump and the steering box(if you don`t have a power assist) are lubricated by SAE 90 hypoid oil...Change all the fluids....there are in fact 2 oil filters -a plastic mesh(disc),which is your full-flow filter and "normal" ,secondary flow filter-you clean and reuse the mesh(if it ain`t broken)and get rid of the big one every oil change.Don`t drive without the mesh! You`ve got a metal fuel pre-filter (which you can change with a plastic screen one if it`s not OK),a felt type fine filter element and an oil bath air filter!!! Check for oil level and replace oil if it`s very dirty...I`ve never seen a Hydrak transmission ...

Plenty of info in

It`s .pdf scans of factory manuals, but I think it`s worth every cent...Well,these are the fist things I`d take care of...Good luck!!!
