New Pagoda owner 230SL seeks advice

Hi,
Looking for advice on good parts websites and information websites about the 230SL/Pagodas.
I have joined Pagoda113.com but there is not much posting there. What other good sites are there besides shopforum.

Thanks,

It doesn't have to be a parts site, just anything interesting and informative on the 230SL.

The best Pagoda site is at www.SL113.org and is the home of the international Pagoda club. Join for free and enjoy the forums. It's the busiest Pagoda site in the world and you'll learn everything you need to buy, restore, maintain and enjoy your pagoda. Check out the resources for the best parts and service.

Good luck!

Tom

For whatever reason, there is not a lot of 113 activity on this forum or on the SL forum. The SL113 board is very active. There is also a Yahoo site.

Here is my favorite parts site .. they have many small parts for component rebuilding that are hard to find in US.
They have great exploded views in case you do not have the 113 parts manuals.
Use English version [ unless you speak German]

Thanks for your posts and input. I have joined the SL 113 group and looking at the others! It is fun and there is good info to be found.

Let me know if I should try anything else!

Thanks,

Pagoda

The 230SL is a stick; I persisted in looking for a nice 230SL with a stick.
Kept running by 280SLs with automatic that were very nice indeed but I just wanted the manual transmission and a revvy engine.

FWIW,

Many 113 guys swap the differential with a 108/4.5 . This is a 3:27 and equates closely to Zf/5 in top gear.
The change is usually for stick only, although I have seen autos do it [ not my recommendation]

If the car sees a lot of highway driving , it is good change . I have both and after the initial liking of the change, I now prefer the stock ratio.
Most I know who have done it say they would not go back..at least one has the choice for short $$$.
The other advantage for the .042 chassis [ 230] is this also automatically upgrades the drums to disc.. which I prefer . All subsequent 113s had disc all around.

On your radio post, all that info is over at

http://www.sl113.org/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=2
in explicit detail... even an article on hard wire I-POD...
