250c Fluids Choice
Thanks all for the big welcome to the board...in my previous post many of you saved me from my rash thought of selling my car less than 1 week after owning it.
I was told starting a new thread for a new question was a wise choice. I am getting ready change all the fluids on the car since I am not positive when it was done last....it seems like a smart thing to do. I know there has been much talk when I search through about oil, ATF etc but its not always to the vintage area. I am wondering what you do in your VINTAGE MB? I live in MN and I will not drive this car in the winter....and will only drive it a few times a week. Oil ATF Radiator There is so much about the synthetics but the responses are not always from people who have an older vehicle and not a diesel. To update my italian tune up did wonders. The more I drive the better the car seems to get. The oil pressure now at lights and stops does not dip below 29.....this up from 5-10 and previously stalling. I no longer sweat bullets when coming to a light and traffic. When I start the car the oil pressure also seems to max out at 45 for me. When driving its at 45 the entire time. I wonder what will happen when I dont run any additives in it ....or if I should throw a bottle in every few tanks. Thanks again my MB brothers! |
when I said a diesel in the earlier post I meant..most responses were from people who had a diesel. I have just a 1970 250C that I run 92 Octane through. roughly 108,000 miles....and supposingly a rebuilt engine 10,000 miles ago.
