109 bushings for sway bar?
Anyone know where I can get sway bar bushing for a 109, I have replaced just about all rubber under the car and would like to do these also. Fastlane did not have. Any help would be appreciated.

Try www.**************.com ....they're big on repair kits and have lots of stuff that's not covered on their web site.
Am thinkin why not replace the entire sway bar? It's spring steel and probably goes soft after 30 yrs. Also gonna be pain in ass sliding new bushings onto the old sway bar. |
Thanks, I'll look into that. Just more $$$$$$$$$$ though.

You probably only need the bushings. The sway bar steel is really good stuff. As to sliding the bushings over, I believe they are split and fit tightly inside the frame bracket which fits against the frame. At least they were on my '69 when I replaced the bushings and links two years ago. Getting the brackets to re-fit easily with the new rubber inside was the only hard part, it made starting the screws a challenge.

Sayin the sway bar never wears out is like saying the coil springs never get old. |
Well I just not have been to locate and yes I would pay $200 for a new one. Thanks again.

I really doubt that you'd need another sway bar. As long as it isnt cracked or bent, I'm sure it's ok. The bushing kit, as well as engine mounts, is one of those that isn't coming up on FastLane anymore.
However, doing the same trick I did for the engine mount search, I was able to find it: http://catalog.peachparts.com/item.wws?qty=1&mfr=AAA%3AMEY&sku=L1049%2D25527&price=61.53&cookieID=1I01F29HA1KU0XMMNN |
I've replaced the motor mounts Tomguy and many other parts but have not have found sway bar bushings........yet. Thanks.

Tosbt, I think the sway bushings for other 108's would suit your 109. They are readily available at $55 or so.
Contact info@coxracingroup.com for custom MB swaybars, they had some in their previous company literature. |
tosbt: I linked them in that post. ;)
