New thermostat rattling?
I just picked up a new Behr 79C thermostat for the 6.9. I didn't thoroughly inspect it before i left the shop but if you shake it there is a rattling noise inside the assembly. Is that normal? Can it be used or should I return it to be on the safe side?

I have had a 6.9 thermostat that had a little "bb" floating in the vent hole that should be placed at the highest point as you mount the 'stat.
Is this what's rattling? Otherwise, I would say that they are by and large noiseless! |

Oh jeez, I must have been really tired last night. I just looked at it again and there is a BB. I guess I was holding it and shaking it laterally and didn't see the BB in the dim lighting. It looked like a check valve of some sort. It sounded like it was rattling from the center of the unit. I just held the BB down with a paperclip and shook it.....no noise.
