W114 Diesel
I'm looking at a 1974 280 (automatic) with some serious engine problems. I'm a diesel guy at heart and love the OM617 turbo diesels. I know that "Anything is possible with enough money" but what am I looking at realistically? Are the engine mounts close to the same? Transmissions? I understand things like oil coolers and diesel fuel lines and glow plug wiring, I'm more interested in understanding things like fender clearances and crossmember location differences.
Thanks, Tad |

I have pondered this with my W115. I believe the oil filter at the very least has to be moved otherwise it will hit the brake master cylinder.
There was a ebay W115 car that had a OM617 conversion done in Canada. Too bad the pictures weren't detailled enough. |
