250SE new owner questions
Hi!
New owner/ first post. I recently bought a '67 250SE from another poster here... I see he's already posted about my unfortunate Leatherique experiences. What a way to start off with a new car! Questions: -This is a German market car with a floor shift manual transmission. I have not been able to find a shift bushing set for it. -Similarly, I've been able to get a new partial exhaust system for it, but cannot find the front section (downpipes) in any US cataloge. -I'm in need of new tires and would like something performance-oriented. I assume a 205/70R14 or a 215/70R14 should fit with no real issues? -Finally, though I'm driving the car, the brakes seem to be getting worse and worse. They stop the car fine with a firm (but low) pedal, but with very little assist. On application (partial or full), I can hear vacuum escaping. Should I assume that I need a new or rebuilt booster or could it be as simple as the o-ring between the booster and master? (Though it sounds like a leak on the driver side of the booster) Curiously, it passes the "standard" booster test (several hard pumps with the engine off, engine started, and pedal drops some). If I do need a new or rebuilt booster, what is the most economical choice? Thanks! Bill Urbana, MD |

The bushings are dirt cheap. Call fastlane (this website). As for the down pipes, they're around. Once again, ask fastlane. -CTH
