+ 6.3 or 6.9 drag strip video!? +

Hi guys,

Do you remember the video of the 6.3 or 6.9 at the drag strip?
It was faster than the corvette! The sound of the machine was amazing.
I can't find the thread or link to it. If you have it, would you please post it here. Thanks

Daniel

A top notch 6.9 will run 15 seconds, a 6.3 14 seconds, best times. A Corvette could do 12 seconds.

A Euro 6.9 will perhaps do 15 seconds in good hands. A US 6.3 in good hands can do 15.5 pretty easy. My best time in my own 6.3 was 15.07, and this was the record for an amateur in a US-spec 6.3 as far as I know.

A stock US 500E will do low-14 second quarter miles; a strong unmodified one will do 13.8-14.0 seconds. On nitrous, sub-13 second times are achieveable.

I have a video of Dan Smith in his 6.3 which is linked at:

GERRYVZ, Thanks for the link and info. I found this thread, wich I believe is what I was looking for except, I do recall seeing scanned printout with the # of both the 6.3 and the corvette's but these are vid I was looking for.

I remember that it was said that the Silver bullit was faster than the Vet at that time, about 3 year ago, so that would be a 2002 Vet not a 2005 one. Anyone remember that?

Gerry, does that video have a special video codec? I wasn't able to play it. The audio works but the video portion is unviewable.

I have these videos somewhere on my hard drive, and when I find them I'll post them and publish the link.

In the meantime, check out this movie trailer I just completed....

You need QuickTime (free download at www.quicktime.com) to view it.

Here are a couple of videos of Dan Smith racing the Silver Bullet.

One taken on the East Coast, the other (nighttime) here at Portland International Raceway.
