Changing Bushings on LCA (450 SEL)

Wanted to ask about changing the lower control arm bushings.
74 Mercedes 450 SEL. Can it be done w/o completely taking the arm off,
i.e. can the cam bolts be loosened, punched out, thearm be raised a little
and new bushings pressed in. Would imagine it would be a good idea to chain
the coil spring so it couldn't pop out?
