Hi,
i have found these guys very helpful. Andreas is the man, and has good english. I have found their prices and ship costs are reasonable.
The homepage gives you a choice of german or english. the german pages are a lot more extensive, and they use their own internal part numbers.
if you have the MB part no, that is fine.

down-home pieces-parts

Years ago, when I ordered some replacement panels for my 114 sedan, some of them were "Veng" - a Danish company.
And currently, those of us who value freedom of speech and of the press should certainly consider anything we can which is Danish, eh?

Thanks have been to their site, but will call this guy Andreas. Hard to find people in Germany who speak good English.

BTW you know a good site for original part numbers?

Floor pan numbers (?)

My old 114 book for ***SEDANS*** lists left/right as 115 616 01/02 67, replaced by 115 616 09/10 67. The earlier require a small rework somewhere in tunnel area if used for some later model 280's - shouldn't affect you.
(I've really gotta get a coupe parts book!)

By the way, Stig, their parts number convention was ALMOST always left=odd 7th & 8th digits, right=even, as in above - the left floor panel is 115 616 01 67, the right 115 616 02 67.

As I have one replacement left floor panel left over from the sedan project, but am getting ready to tackle the coupe; when you find out the coupe's number, I would love to know whether the coupe's is the same, or whether it's actually shorter and has a different part number. [ EDIT - I stand corrected on 114/115 coupe w.base - apparently the same as sedans, per later post]

The pan itself will NOT, however, include all those lovely little bits, such as seat supports, braces, stiffeners, rear bulkhead, etc. If you have a rust problem, they may also be damaged, or not worth cutting out/grinding down, to refit...so make some really good reference marks...

Thanks,
Stan

Hey Stig,
i bought some tech books thru the following email -
"Silvie_Kiefer/VV/DCAG/DCX@dcx.dcx"

For the life of me i cant recall the exact web address, but i searched
daimlerchrysler.com, and after a few minutes found a page detailing
workshop books and CDs, model by model, for sale.
i purchased some W114 books, (German text) which have exploded diagrams
and MB part no's, covering pretty much everything except the engine (which
IIRC is available on CD). The book was last published in '02 and cost about
EUR30, CDs are closer to EUR100.
The book will also help you in relation to your brake calipers/hoses etc.
DBDepot offer EUR35 refund per caliper. Not sure what postage is like in your neck
of the woods (if you do return calipers), but it might be cheaper to send them as
two individual parcels, they're heavy buggers.

Hope this helps

cheers,
tony

Somewhere, that 4 inches comes out of the wheelbase, but not always in places you might expect...
Hello,
The W114 coupes are not 4 inches shorter than the sedans, that trend began with the W123s and continued with W124/126 two door bodyshells.
W114 coupes retained sedan wheelbase and overall lenght with a two inch lower roof line that makes the thing look like an American chop top custom
AFAIK, the floor panels are the same for all models except there are differences in the rear floor where the seat mounting is further forward and smaller with a lot of reinforcement back there due to the pillarless bodyshell. BTW, do not try to fit sedan seats to a coupe, not only will the thing not fold, but the seats are *slightly* different enough to stick your toupee to the roofliner
Have a good week.

Hey Stig,
that email address is from a lady (Silvie Kiefer), i emailed some 'classic center address' at Daimler Chrysler for info, and it is she who replied to my hotmail a/c. thats where i got the rather longwinded email address from.
Apologies if i sent you on a bit of a wild goose chase there...

Have been talking to some people, and have been adviced not to buy panels from Veng, cause of bad fitting.

Have not been bothered to do something to my pretty lady the last few weeks, but now the weather is getting better (and warmer) and I have been wondering to start removing the stuff sprayd on the underside. Lots of work to get it of, it has been coverd in some asfalt stuff from a rust treatment years ago, but it is a bad job, cus it is rust underneat.
I am tempted to leave it til next winter (have a place indoor next year), and just fix the Front Subframe Mounting and just ride this summer
