The ugliest MB I have ever seen...

I've seen some sad accident victims, some horrible rustbuckets, some poorly-done aftermarket-mod victims, and some cars touted as "Pristine examples" that "Burn some oil and have some minor surface rust", but this one takes the crown of "Ugliest MB I have ever seen" hands down.

Any one thing about that car would make it less ugly. The paint color, the massive supercharger protruding from the once clean hood, the grey "felt" that was used liberally... It's just an eyesore.

It's a pro-street-legal drag car! Nothing about it is really MB except for the R107 donor body. As far as a drag car, it's well done. Purists will find it sacreligious to wrap an MB shell around an NHRA-spec chassis...

If anybody wants to see a fight - take that pink 427SL to the annual Corvette gathering at Bowling Green where ALL Corvettes are built. Has the SL Forum seen this?

Less felt, less pink...

I would drive that to school, for the sole purpose of doing donuts in the parking lot all day

I accually like the hood, except it does need a cowl or scoop, but its allright now...
All that work, and they used a stant radiator cap? ugg
wonder how many other little details they missed

Tom, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, for sure. You obviously have no respect for the work and money that goes into a project of that magnitude.

This thread really doesn't belong in vintage forum at all, right?

Well, it's a '73 "450 SL". I found it when looking for older Benzes on eBay.

I would appreciate the time and effort that went into it if it looked halfway decent. But it doesn't IMO.

Yeah, you're right Tom, I didn't realize it was a 1973 model.

Wow Merlin heads, those ain't cheap.

It looks like a pretty nice drag car, paint it black and I'd take it! The only thing MB on that thing is the body, next week it could be a Fox body Mustang...
