Finny with M130? M110?

Just wondering if it's possible/easy to swap the 2.8 liter M130 or M110 engines into a circa '67 230s body.

Seems it would be the easiest/cheapest way to get a few HP for not a big outlay. A late EFI M110 would be extra cool, but I read somewhere they don't clear?

Answered my own question about the M130 - appears to be an easy swap.

Still don't know about the M110, though...

The M110 would be more of a pain because the exhaust is on the passenger side.

If you're talkin with Zeniths it should all hook up. If you're talkin fuel injection, it gets more complicated. Also there is the trans to consider. If you use an engine out of a 108 with a cut off around 69, the trans will be a K4C025. You will need the trans from the donor the K4A025 in your car has no control pressure rod. If you have a stick, you will need to match balance the flywheels if the donor is an automatic. Everything looks the same at first glance, but believe me it is not. There are even two different size holes in the end of the cranks for early and late fluid couplings. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. The car's a stick - is the bellhousing bolt pattern at least the same?

Well, at this point both cars are imaginary, or at least theoretical...

I have the 67 230s with dead motor nailed down, I just have to decide between it and a 62 190 with a dead motor.

Assuming I go for the 230s, I was thinking it would be easier to just find a 108 or 114 in the junkyard and pull the motor, than it would be to rebuild the M180.

well changing out for a good used motor is always simpler than rebuilding... the trick on a car that old is finding a good used motor.

there are probably some out there though. they tended to rust away long before the motor died, especially up here in the rust belt.
