Extra 108 Fuel Filter?
Has anyone every put a filter between the tank and the pump on a 108?
That tiny little filter in the pump it easily clogged, and it it a pain to remove and clean. I have an extra 107 filter that I could probably rig up, or I could probably find a smaller in-line filter that would work. Any ideas or experience? TIA

Guys with really bad/dirty tanks put them on, but you want one with the largest flow rate you can get [ you will note that the feed to the pump relies on gravity flow..which is why this line is the largest diameter line of the entire system]
Look for a filter with large inlet/outlet nipples. Can be from carb engine as pressure is not an issue. Micron size can also be large as this is not the final filtration. If you can fill a gallon container in 45 secs with the filter installed with just gravity [ and 1/2 tank head pressure] , it should be fine. |

I know a lotta folks used to do that to their M110 engines, since DB saw no reason to equip them with fuel filters at the factory. I can even recall the MB part number they used to use: 0014773801 -- MSRP $14. It's a medium-sized plastic inline filter. No reason you couldn't do the same.....
