W116.120 fuel pump 79' 300 SD

I hope this is a sutpid (intended sp) question based on a iffy manual but... "All mercedes have an electric fuel pump (two models, one with return lines)" Mine should be "under the left side rear floor board" with access from under the car. Well ... I don't seem to have the car in the manual, no fuse for a fuel pump, don't seem to have a pump under the car in that location and need to get fuel to the pre-filter. Going by ACTUAL MB manuals and illistrated parts catalog G, I do not see a electric fuel pump! Online parts dealers do not list an electric fuel pump for the ol' gal! ????????????????????????????????X!@#!@! CD manuals are not user friendly ON THE ROAD!X!@#$!
While I realy do not care if the old Lady has one, I do want her to dance down the road again and plan on changing her rubber (she gets a little kinky) fuel lines (probaly a small crack, hole or loose clamp) and clean the strainer (tank is 3/4 full !!!!!X!@#$@!)
Any clues, advice on this mysterous pump?
BTW, she prefers Tango to Salsa and she often responds to my poking around under her dress every now and then, sometimes for fun, sometimes for dire need and please hold off on 100% Dino fuel, this is a Lady with taste! Please never tell her she may get fat!

All punns intended.
I'm not a pollytician, but give me a few drinks, stuff some $ in my pocket and I can lie (or lay) like one.
Polliticans and whores, I can't afford either.

Your W116 diesel does not have an electric fuel pump, nor does any W115, W123, W126 similar diesel. They all only have the lift pump attached to the diesel IP as the pump. The manual you are referring to must have been talking about a W116 gasser.

Thank you.
The Chilton manual stated all MB had elect. pumps and I spent hours on the side of a road looking for the darn thing hoping for a loose wire.
I'm not getting any bubbles out of the banjo when operating the manual pump (150 storks). I believe it has died and I'll replace it with the new style.
?Shouldn't the IP be able to overcome air if the main filter is full and eventully fed the nozzles if I crack the lines?
?When the prime pump goes bad, does this effect the IP as in could there be an air leak not allowing fuel to the IP?
?Should fuel gravity flow into the pre-filter?
Drained the tank and fuel flowed about as fast as expected from a 3/8" opening but will not flow to the prefilter.
