Is R134a being phased out?
I've had a couple of people tell me that R-134a is being phased out in favor of CO2 systems, and I've notices it's become somewhat more expensive. Has anyone heard anything about this? Is it time to stock up on R134a?
(I had AC retrofitted to my 280SE (came from Europe without it) and used a Nippondenso compressor and R134a - it works OK (a hell of a lot better than the factory system, so i've been told, except it drips on my foot)). Josh |

There are actions afoot to try to replace R134a with a hydrogen-based refrigerant. Won't happen any time soon, and no need to stock up on something as cheap as R134a.
