New Member Here!

Just found out about this Club/Forum! so here goes...

Currently driving a 1971 280S that was rescued from an estate transaction and loving every minute of it! First MB I've ever owned and grabbed it to satisfy my middle age issues! Best investment I've made!
Would love to share info with other 280 owners and possibly a GTG in the Massachusetts Area!

A tantalizing glimpse of a wonderful car! You came to the right place for questions.

Does this car come with a fascinating history to it?

It looks like a "top of the line" 300SEL 6.3 from the trim and driving lights.
REAL wood on the dashboard.
A real gem, and built to an incredibly high standard of craftsmanship.

Hope she has a garage and you can avoid the heavily salted winter streets. Gorgeous car and still my favorite color on one of these. For (probably) a bargain price, you have more class and prestige than most any new luxury car!

Happy Motoring, Mark

Speakin of Cape Cod, its the easiest place in the world to get lost. If you miss a turn on state roads there, you're dead meat. Incredibly none of the major highways run through civilization and exits are often 20 miles apart with no state roads running parallel to each other - all of em reaching out in opposite directions instead.

Welcome to the club, Senor!

From what I can see, that car looks mighty fine. Congrats on snagging it. You'll have fun here and get plenty of help when you need it.

Beautiful

My first Mercedes was a 71 280S. Beautiful car and still probably my favourite that I've owned. Mine was a twin carb 6. Is yours too? Pictures pictures! One word of warning though. I speak from bitter experience. Make sure the steering box mounting bolts are torqued correctly and check the box frame chassis area where they mount for rust!

- Peter.
