116 vacuum part???????????/
116 300SD mystery part found on the firewall between the throtle linkage and the AC hose. It is mostly carmel colored, has a 1/2" knob on top, a horizontal hose connection pointing toward the brake booster, another hose connection pointing downward, 1" sq. black front surface and a two wire socket on it's pass. side.
What the !!@#@%$ is this part? What does it do? What colored vacuum hoses run to which ports? As you have guessed, it is not currently hooked up and there are no open ended lines laying around. HELP????????????????

I think it is the overboost protection valve. Too late to go peek at my car tonight, though.
