Help With Parts
Need a few parts to complete the tune up of a 1971 220D that sat in storage for the last 25 years. It was started about 12-15 years ago and had work done to get it running. I put in fresh diesel and it eventually cranked up. Since then I've replaced every fluid, hose, belt and brake. I then drove it 1000 miles in two days to get from WI to NJ. I need a few more things to complete the job: 1. A rear view mirror to replace the clouded one. 2. a clock that works 3. The steering wheel is cracked. 4. I would like to get a second set of hubcaps.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Bill |

Check the back of the clock for either a lump of solder fuse or an internal wire fuse, should be an easy repair. They went to quartz clocks somewhere around that time.

Trying My Luck - Clock - Can it be Fixed? I have a rear view mirror, let me see what kind of condition it is in and I will let you know. I also have a quartz clock, not sure if it works but I can check that as well

Caps and Clock
Thanks for the reply...The car is a two tone Blue with white top. The hubcaps are blue but as I work toward having the car repainted I could also do the hubcaps...I thought the fuse for the clock was the same as the dome lights but will look behind for the fuse. Please let me know about the rearview mirror. Mine is in perfest shape except the clouded glass...I have not looked to see if it comes apart...it looks like a sealed unit.
New topic...The rear sway bar links have been disconnected and new ones on order. As we got it running they looked good, but then the rubber just crumbled away. Anyone familiar with replacing them? |

I haven't replaced any yet on a 115 (or my 108), but I have replaced them on my 123 & 124. Looking at the pic of your links, they look very very similar, and I can't see you having much trouble replacing them.
Maybe spray some penetrating oil on the nuts a day before.
