searching for a brake caliper

A couple of month ago rear left break got stuck and it caught on fire. The flame was coming out of the wheel (no more than a foot away from those rubber hoses going to the fuel pump). The fire extinguisher didn't work, luckily I had couple bottles of water. That did the job. So I still have the car, but with no brakes.
I spent some time looking for the rebuilt caliper, but all online sources offer different part. Even if it looks the same, it has different numbers on it. I would like to find a rebuilt caliper to save some $. Any suggestions wher I could find it. Thanks,Vilius.

Whats the part number?

We don't have a year, or a part number. It's going to be hard to help without either.

Here are some:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=CRO&mfrpartnumber=19271S&parttype=5003&ptset=A

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=BEN&mfrpartnumber=R46515&parttype=5003&ptset=A

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=RAY&mfrpartnumber=FRC9002&parttype=5003&ptset=A

Good luck

It's a 1970. I don't have MBZ part#. Every company have their own #'s. I've ordered from NAPA and they shipped the wrong one. I got one from Crown Reman. - it looks the same, but different numbers on it. Here is the picture form *************** that looks exactly what I need, but I would like to find a rebuilt one to save some $.

Make sure you check the brake flex hose for internal restriction before condemning the caliper..........very common mis-diagnosis.

If you haven't already, check with Phil from fastlane (click "Buy Parts" above for phone #)

If not, there is a place in Sarasota that has them - I bought mine there...about 100 a piece 3 years ago.

apple hydraulics

You can try apple hydraulics in NY, they have a good reputation for rebuilding brake and clutch hydraulics for items that have no rebuild kits.
Taking your calipers to a re-builder will almost certainly be more expensive then buying a rebuilt item. The rebuilt items are usually rebuilt out of the country and hence a lot less expensive.

I tried to find it via on-line yellow pages - no luck. I'll be driving by there tomorrow, and get the name & #.
(I think it was either Tropical, or Paradise parts. -sorry, it's been a while)

Update: It is Paradise Auto Parts on Clark Rd. in Sarasota.

So finally I replaced rear calipers and hoses. Before conecting the lines to the calipers I decided to flush them. Small pieces of rubber wouldn't stop coming out while flushing. Where is it coming from? Master cylinder? Or is there any other flex conection somwhere? I think thats why the caliper got stuck.

Consider replacing the pair.
