How to Question
I want to check the fuel flow form my injector on my 1968 280SL Mechnical injection. what do I need to duplicate a tool to hook to the cold start valve to measure the amount of fuel I am getting? can I Buy the tool or do I need to make one?
I looked at the tool list and two itools came up 1) 0986615360 Bosch CIS injection tester But not mechnical injection? 2) 691H graduate cylinder 1000Mil injection out-put volumn measurement? I guess I should look in the BBB but I am sure the tool no longer exsist, is there a home made substitute? Bob Geco[B Last edited by Bob G; 11-09-2006 at 03:02 AM. |

There are two kinds of tests.
- Total volume from the pump. The two tools needed are a watch accurate to the second and a bucket that will hold more than a gallon of gasoline. Using safety googles would be good too. - Injector spray pattern. This is test for an injector disconnected from the car. It's a little test tool that can be purchased in the aftermarket for something like 200$. Here too you need safety googles. -CTH |
